I can't imagine teaching for 2,000 dirhams a month. The article runs a comparison on average earnings for an indian teacher (2,000) and a western teacher ( 15,000).
I have worked in schools here , where parents ( of various nationalities) will request their children be taken out of a certain teacher's class when they realise said teacher doesn't have a British passport, white face, or appropriate accent. It amazes me that in this day and age , some people here feel no need to even vaguely hide their prejudices - and indeed why should they -clearly some schools share the same mindset if this article is anything to go by !
